A Visual Approach to Note Taking

What are Sketchnotes?

Simply put, sketchnotes are visual notes taken by hand at live events. With whatever tools on hand – be it a pencil, pen, notebook, tablet or napkin – sketchnoters record spoken words through text assisted by drawings and symbols while a speaker delivers the information. The result is a creative interpretation and expression of useful information.

Why Sketch out notes?

Sketchnotes are especially effective in situations where large amounts of verbal information need to be quickly processed and broken down into main ideas.  I personally have found the sketchnoting experiences to be very refreshing and beneficial in helping me remember information. Best of all, sketchnotes are fun and help with focus!
